Tuesday night progress
Well, I was able to get the second coat of the base color on Karchev and Kodiak #1 - this seemed to go on much quicker and smoother than the previous, which I'm very happy about. Hopefully tonight will see progression to the second Red I use (of about 12 layers).
Base layer 1: 3:2 VM Burnt Cadmium Umber Red: Glaze Medium.

12 Layers are not as bad as it sounds. To get good "reds" requires many, many layers.
Plus they actually go by pretty quickly.

Yeah - it's not too bad, but can get a little tedious.

Red is a pain to highlight. If you do it too quick you get orange.

I'm only using Reds to highlight - the closest I get to an orange color is VM Scarlet, I think (I'll post the recipe when I get home).
